First published in 2004, A Vault of Horror, by Keith Topping, is a great reference book and is packed with trivia about some of the classic British horror films.
Topping covers 80 British horror movies that were made between 1956 and 1974, beginning with Night of the Demon (1956) and ending with House of Whipcord (1974). Films discussed also include Peeping Tom (1960), The Haunting (1962), The Devil Rides Out (1967), The Blood on Satan's Claw (1970) and Alfred Hitchcock's Frenzy (1972).
Topping divides the information into small, handy segments and notes things like continuity errors, location and filming information, the film's tagline and critics' reactions to each film on release. He also provides detailed filmographies for leading cast members in each film and provides his own brief reviews. Illustrated with black & white photographs throughout, the book also contains a section of colour film poster images in the centre. Topping's writing style is light, accessible and amusing and Vault of Horror is a handy book to have on your bookshelf.

The Devil Rides Out and Blood on Satan's Claw are two of my favourite horror films. They just don't make them liked they used to. I once thought about writing something that drew the comparison between books and films...my degree dissertation was based on Stephen King's "IT" (my all-time favourite novel), so it would have been an extension from that. Never got round to it. Never got round to it. Maybe some day. Like your blog though - Ian pointed me in this direction. Good stuff, look forward very much to reading some fo those film reviews of yours!
